The City of Wellman held their city council meeting on Monday is taking the next steps toward upgrading their city infrastructure. City Administrator Dave Ross says they are looking at replacing the water and sewer systems. He says half of the fire hydrants in town need replacing right now. He says they are also looking at replacing the water and sewer mains on two different streets. The city took action during the meeting to apply for grants from the Iowa Department of Economic Development and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Council set a public meeting for November 6th at 7pm to discuss entering into a revenue bond loan agreement for the water system infrastructure improvements.
