It may be warm and dry now but Iowa State Climatologist Harry Hillaker says its not going to stay that way for winter. Hillaker says there is a chance that the La Nina affect in the Pacific Ocean will cause Iowa to have a colder and wetter winter then usual in the Mid-Winter months of January, February, and March. Hillaker says the La Nina affect is also the cause of this fall being warm and dry, which he says should stay the same through November. Hillaker notes that the last few winters have been snowier and colder then usual.
