Holiday Openings/Closures

With the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow, all government offices, banks and post offices will be closed, however, some businesses will be open for parts of the holiday weekend.  The Washington City Hall, the Washington County Courthouse, and the Washington Chamber will be operating under normal business hours today and will not reopen until next Monday the 29th. Most banks and post offices will be open with normal business hours Friday. Some restaurants will be open tomorrow and many retail businesses in the area will be open with extended hours on Friday.  See below for a list of openings and closures:

Restaurants open Thursday:

Café Dodici 11am-3pm

Hoodwinks 4pm-midnight for bowling using the deep fat fryer to fix food

Hy-Vee Kitchen 5am-2pm

Linda Lou’s Diner 11am-2pm

Subway 11am-10pm


Washington County Mini-Bus:  closed Thursday and Friday

Washington Library:  closed Thursday and Friday, normal hours Saturday

Wellman Library:  closed Thursday, normal hours Friday and Saturday

Wilson Memorial Library in Keota:  closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Kalona Library:  closed Thursday, normal hours Friday and Saturday

Washington and Wellman Y:  open 5:00am to 6:30 pm Friday, normal hours Saturday and Sunday

Sorrell Glass – closed both days

Southeast Iowa Multi-County Solid Waste Agency closed Thu and Fri; open Sat
