As of November 1st, Iowa’s 2010 corn for grain yield was forecast at 167 bushels per acre, down 2 bushels per acre from October 1st. Production is forecast at 2.19 billion bushels for the State, down 10 percent from last year. As of November 7th, 98 percent of corn acres have been harvested. The November 1st soybean yield forecast of 52.0 bushels per acre is unchanged from the October 1st forecast, but up 1 bushel per acre from 2009. If realized, soybean production would be 512 million bushels, up nearly 26.2 million bushels from last year. As of October 24th, soybean acres harvested were 97 percent, the furthest soybean harvest has been by October 24th since 2005.
