The Jefferson County Board of Supervisors met yesterday morning in their weekly session and made a decision on the Jefferson County Trail on Gear Ave. Supervisor Richard Reed says they had a lengthy discussion on the issue. He says they decided safest way would be to put the trail in the county right of way off of Gear Ave. He says property owners of the land attached to the right of the way really didn’t want it there because they were concerned that people would wander into their corn field and barns. Reed said he felt it would be safer if the trail would be in the right of way instead of the street. Reed says construction won’t begin on the Jefferson County Trail till next spring.
