Today is the 35th Annual Great American Smokeout, a day established by the American Cancer Society to help people make a plan to quit smoking for good. Kierstan Peck, Senior Community Relations Staff Partner with the American Cancer Society says with the nationwide average price for a pack of cigarettes being $5.51, and many communities being covered by smoke-free laws, there has never been a better time to quit. Stopping smoking is one of the most important steps you can take toward staying well and helping to make a world with less cancer.
