The state volleyball champions were crowned over the weekend in Cedar Rapids. Winning in 1A was Tripoli, they beat Janesville in three. In Class 2A, Western Christian, Hull beat Lake Mills in three. Lake Mills was the team that knocked off Super Conference school Mediapolis. In 3A, Mount Vernon, the team that came out of the Demons’ regional, repeats as champions as they beat West Delaware in four. West Delaware won the first set. Finally in 4A, it was Iowa City West who beat Ankeny in three. So there were no five set matches and all but one were decided in three.
