The Washington Board of Education meets tonight. The Board is appointing a
Representative to the Washington County Conference Board, and the appointment of Legal Counsel. Superintendent Mike Jorgensen says they have been with a firm out of Cedar Rapids for a number of years, but have been taking bids for other school attorneys, and the Board will decide who the new school attorney will be for the next school year. The Board will also be taking locker and bleacher bids, as well as lawn care bids. Jorgensen says they are looking at outsourcing their driver’s education program to a private contractor. He says the program and cost will not change, and the school would be relieved from the liability, providing the vehicle and paperwork. The meeting is tonight at 7:00 in the Junior High Media Center.
