Winter precipitation will soon be falling over the area, and the Iowa State Patrol wants to pass along tips for driving safe throughout the winter season. Trooper Jason Marlow, from District 13 in Mount Pleasant says that besides buckling your seat belt, slowing down is a major factor in staying safe while driving. He says that you will get to your destination safer if you allow yourself extra time to get there. Marlow continues to say that as conditions get worse, you should think about if you really have to go out. He recommends that if you don’t have to leave, stay home when driving conditions become hazardous. For more information on winter driving tips and current road conditions, call 511 or go to 511ia.org.
