The bridge over Crooked Creek on 250th Street is open again. Washington County Engineer David Patterson says the bridge located just west of Washington will remain open through the rest of the winter. He says because of an exceptionally wet summer and other complications last summer, construction on the bridge was more difficult than normal. Patterson says the contractor Iowa Bridge and Culvert in Washington made extra efforts to make sure the bridge could be open for the remainder of the winter. He says this was done because cold weather prevents many operations from being finished. Patterson notes the project is scheduled to be finished in the spring and at that time the road will be closed again to rebuild concrete approaches and guard rails. If anyone has any questions, you are asked to contact the Washington County Engineer’s office.
