The Demon boys basketball stay poised last night and sent themselves into the Christmas break with a win over Fort Madison. The Bloodhounds had two very quick guards in Jesse Ross and DeSean Edwards and at times they created steals and fast breaks, but Washington would play very controlled, create turnovers themselves, as well as make good passes. It was a three point Demons lead with under two minutes to go but the Demons with some timely free throw shooting were able to pull to a six point lead down the stretch and came away with a 66-57 win. Washington Head Coach Bryce Smeins says after their lopsided loss to West Branch this past weekend, they really wanted to play smarter and he felt they did 80821. For Washington Nic Williams had 19 points and was 7-9 from the free throw line, Colin Steele had 16 and Josh Moore finished with 14 and 7-9 from the free throw line. For the Bloodhounds, DeSean Edwards had 15, Keon Smith 13 and Jesse Ross 11. The Demons are now 3-5 and 2-1 in the conference. Fort Madison falls to 0-3 in the conference.
