The Demon boys basketball team was in Pella facing an always tough Pella Christian team. The Demons won last year here in Washington, on Saturday the Demons were down by one 19-15 at the end of the first quarter and took the lead in at halftime 35-34. The Demons were down by 9 going into the fourth but rallied and pulled within two with a minute to go, but Pella Christian was able to get the win by six 66-60 was the final. For Washington, Brock Kimball led the Demons with 15, Anthony Ossman had 10, Colton Covington 9, Josh Moore 7, Nic Williams 7, Jordan Gier 6, and Colin Steele 6. Josh Moore had a collision with a Pella Christian player towards the end of the third, which caused a twenty minute delay. Demon Head Coach Bryce Smeins says Moore was taken to a hospital as a precaution and he was able to make the trip back home. The Demons are now 1-2 on the season they beat Durant-Bennett in overtime on Friday. Their next game will be at Muscatine tomorrow.
