Most of us already know the importance of washing our hands, but Infection Control and Employee Health Nurse Lorraine Hardt at the Washington County Hospital and Clinics reminds us of the most important times when we should wash our hands.   She says we should wash them not only when we see them dirty, but before we prepare food, caring for a baby, treating a wound or after handling pets.  Hardt also mentions that teaching children a simple song like Old MacDonald that is 15 to 20 seconds long is a great way to get them to wash their hands.  She says washing your hands regularly is one of the best ways to stay healthy.
