More high school students are attending college while attending high school at the same time.  Kirkwood Washington Center Director Nancy Rash says she has seen an increase in the number of students each year.  Rash notes that many of the “dual-credit” classes are taken at the Kirkwood Washington Center, and at academies in the high school taught by high school teachers.  These class credits are transferable to any four-year college and are offered for high school Juniors and Seniors.  She says students can take up to 24 credit hours per school year at a reduced rate which is equivalent to being a full-time college student.  Rash recommends checking with your high school counselor to see if there are any special rules before signing up for any dual-credit classes.  If you want to know more, contact the Kirkwood Washington Center at 653-4655.
