Monday night the Mid Prairie Board of Education awarded contracts for the High School Renovation Project. Superintendent Mark Schneider says they awarded bids to five companies. By bidding the project out to 5 different companies it allowed them to save $200,000 to $250,000 on the total project. The bid total for the five contractors was $4.4 million, which was less then what was budgeted. Bids were awarded to Home Town Plumbing and Heating in Davenport, Ace Electric in North Liberty, CI3 in Cedar Rapids, the General Contractor will be Tri Con out of Dubuque, and A-1 Geo Thermal out of Earlham will be drilling their well field.
