The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks will host Solon tonight. This is a boy-girl doubleheader in Wellman. On the boys side, Mid-Prairie Head Coach Don Showalter says it’s been a nice rivalry with the Spartans. Last season, the Golden Hawks beat the Spartans in Solon ending the Spartans’ 38 game winning streak. The Spartans would get revenge at the state tournament beating Mid-Prairie on their way to finishing runner up in 2A. Showalter says heading into tonight Solon is unbeaten, but Mid-Prairie feels like they can play with the Spartans and it will be a nice game before heading into the Christmas break.
