The City of Riverside recently received $63,500 from the Washington County River Boat Foundation competitive grant program. Jim Leyden, chair person for the Riverside Visioning Committee says they are using the money for a new trail system. They are starting on Boise Street on the west side of Riverside and phase one will go out to the intersection of Highways 22 and 218. The trail will be a multipurpose trail for bikers, walkers and snowmobilers. Leyden says this grant will only partially fund phase one of the project. They will be putting the project out for bids next march. He says hopefully the trail will be built by the end of next September.
