The Iowa Department of Natural Resources wants to remind everyone of snowmobile safety. Washington County DNR Law Enforcement Bureau District Supervisor Shawn Meyer says when out on a snowmobile, you should know the hazards that you might encounter, plan your trip before you leave, have enough gas in your snowmobile, and to not go out alone. He says anyone who is over the age of 16 should have a valid driver’s license before leaving and should have attended safety classes. Meyer says to take your safety certificate with you in case you should be stopped by a DNR or law enforcement official.
