The Washington Demon softball team had a strong season with a some key seniors, one of which had a record setting season at the plate. The Demons finished the softball season 27-10 playing in a very competitive Southeast Conference. The Demons reached the Regional Semifinal round and lost to Fort Madison. Senior Lucy Libe finished the season with 65 hits, scored 40 runs and stole 26 bases. Libe had the most at bats with 122 during the season and had the best batting average hitting .533. Libe’s batting average set the conference record for best batting average in a season in the Southeast Conference breaking a record that had been in place since the early 90’s. She also broke her own school record in the spring in the 400 meter hurdles running track.
