We continue our look back at some of the area’s top sports stories of 2010 and today we will remember a couple of strong performances at the state track meet.

Mid-Prairie’s Tanner Miller was not only a strong football player, and good basketball player, he was one of the best hurdlers in the state, especially the 400 meter hurdles. Miller won the state title as a junior and in talking with his Head Track and Field Coach Steve Hollan before running at state as a senior, Hollan says Miller had a goal to repeat as champion. He says Miller not only wanted to beat his best time of the season, he wanted to knock a full second off of it. Miller was shooting for a :52.5 and ran a :52.3. Miller also finished second in the 110 high hurdles. He now plays football at the University of Iowa.
