The Demon girls basketball team played a tough Pella team pretty close, but it was Pella’s free throw shooting and size that was key in the Little Dutch win Saturday. The Demons were coming off a tough Friday game against 12th ranked Keokuk in which the Demons got down big in the first half but held the Chiefs to just 10 points in the second half but wasn’t enough to get the win. Demon Head Coach Phil Long says against Pella 23 of their points came from the free throw line and they struggled rebounding and scoring against Pella’s size. Pella won 51-45. For Washington:
Lauren Vittetoe 14 points
Sydney Greiner 11 points
Lauren Kimball 8 points
The Demons are now 13-5 on the season. They go on the road for a boy-girl doubleheader at Fort Madison. That will be our next Demon broadcast, we’ll be on the air at around 6:00-pm with the pre-game show. You’ll be able to hear both games on the radio and online at KCIIradio.com just click on Radio Plus.
