In Washington, the 15th ranked Demon girls and 12th ranked Keokuk Chiefs were battling for conference title rights. A Demons win would mean they’d tie for the conference title provided they win out the rest of the season, a Chief win means they lock up the title. The two teams played to a one point game in Keokuk back in December with the Chiefs winning. Last night the Chiefs came out very strong with their press giving the Demons problems in the first half. Keokuk led 40-24 at halftime. The Demons only gave up ten points in the second half but the first half deficit was too much to overcome as Keokuk won 50-42. Demon Head Coach Phil Long says they struggled from outside going 2-13 from beyond the arc. Sidney Greiner had 14 and then a few girls had six and seven. The loss snaps a seven game Demon winning streak.
