Wellman had some important visitors yesterday. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey delivered a keynote speech during Precision Structures Incorporated’s 23rd Annual Customer Appreciation breakfast. Other dignitaries in attendance were State Senator Sandy Greiner, State Representatives Jarad Klein and Tom Sands. Secretary Northey spoke to the group on the importance of farming today and the perception of farmers. Northey said agriculture is very important and can’t be done without the local farmer. He noted a common misconception is people do not know what a farmer does and he challenged everyone on spreading the word on what it takes to run a farm.
