The Washington County Compensation Board has made a determination of salaries for the next fiscal year. County Auditor Bill Fredrick says this board has the responsibility of researching what should be paid to other individuals who hold like positions and determine a fair compensation for each elected individual. Fredrick says the Compensation Board is recommending a 2.5% increase in pay for all elected officials except the County Attorney. He says the Board of Supervisors will make the final determination in how much of an increase will be given. Fredrick notes he is unclear at this time when that determination will be made. Any new salary increases will take effect July 1st of this year.
