The Demon girls basketball team step up their game late in the fourth to get a 61-47 win over Mount Pleasant. The game was actually closer than the score would suggest. The Demons played well in the first quarter leading 14-5 going into the second. Towards the end of the first half, Mount Pleasant put together a little run from make it a 25-21 game with Washington up at the half. In the second half the Demons would get it out to a ten point lead at one point but the Panthers would fight to make it a two point game going into the fourth. It was tied with around two and a half to go when the Demons got two consecutive threes from Lauren Vittetoe and Cassie Holland picked off a pass headed for the post which the Demons converted into a basket. All of sudden the Demons had an eight point lead. The Panthers were forced to foul but the Demons went 12-12 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to make the game look a little more lopsided than it was with Washington winning 61-47. Sydney Greiner had 20 points and went 8 for 8 from the charity stripe. Lauren Vittetoe had 16 hitting four threes, all of her points were from the field. Mount Pleasant was led by Taylor Shull 20 points. Washington is now 7-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference, Mount Pleasant falls to 3-7 and 2-2 in the conference.
