The Jefferson County Board of Supervisors met in regular session yesterday and decided to approve and adopt the Jefferson County Hazard Mitigation Plan even though the supervisors had some concerns. Supervisor Richard Reed says they were worried about whether they should approve it even though it wasn’t totally written yet. In order to get funding to get the plan finalized they had to approve the plan. But the council decided to make an ear mark that if it gets approved and they don’t agree with it then they can withdraw themselves from the plan.
The Board also approved the Jefferson County Code of Ordinances, and moved the next reading of the ordinance to January 27th. The council also selected Reed to be this years Chairman and Supervisor Steve Burgmeier as Vice Chairman of the Council.
