Washington District Court Judge Michael Mullins has completed his interview for the state Supreme Court. During yesterday’s interview he shared with the State Judicial Nominating Commission that he is practical, pragmatic, and passionate. Judge Mullins says he is practical in his approaches to problem solving in his personal life and in his role as a judge. He says he takes being practical to another level to make himself pragmatic. Judge Mullins adds that he is passionate about matters in which he is involved. Those on the interview panel asked about his social work, how being a District Judge would help him if appointed to the Supreme Court, what it is like to work with a small budget, and his work on sentencing guidelines in the state. The Nominating Commission will submit recommendations to Governor Branstad to be appointed for the state Supreme Court.
