The Kalona Historical Society has received over $17,000 in grant money from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation Competitive Grant Awards.  Kalona Historical Society Executive Director Steve Reif says they will be using the money for improvements to the Kalona Historical Village.

He says they are going to put new roof and gutters on the Wall House, over $5000 will be putting a new roof on the Wall Museum.  They will also be putting a new furnace in the wall house.  Reif says they are excited to get these things done, and were lacking the funds in their normal budget to do these projects.
