A highly decorated college track athlete from Keota has won a conference award for her performance in the class room. Hannah Baker was a standout sprinter at Wartburg and part of their 2009 outdoor and 2009 and 2010 indoor NCAA Division III Championship teams. Baker enjoyed similar success in the class room and graduated in May with a 3.98 GPA and made the Dean’s List four years. She has been named the female winner of the Iowa Conference’s Duane Shroeder Scholar Athlete of the Year Award. She was also selected as the Iowa Conference’s nominee for NCAA Woman of the Year advancing to the Top 9 phase as one of three nominees representing Division III. Baker earned All-American honors in the 400 meter dash six times and ran on eight All-American relays. She currently is attending graduate school at the University of Wisconsin.
