The Mid-Prairie Board of Education recently adopted the school calendar for the next school year of 2011-2012. Mid-Prairie Superintendent Mark Schneider says it provides for 178 student days and two professional days as part of an innovative calendar. School will start on Monday, August 29th, which is a little later than usual. Schneider says the reason they are starting later is because they will have construction going on in the high school to replace the heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. He says they want to provide as much time to the contractors to get their work done during the summer time.
