The Washington City Council is closing the application process to fill a vacancy on the Park Board. Interested candidates need to submit letters by the close of business today to City Hall. City Clerk Illa Earnest says those interested need to live in Washington and present why they want to be on the park board. The Council will interview candidates before their regular meeting on January 19th. Earnest adds that the Council will select the candidate to fill the vacancy during the regular session that evening. This position on the Park Board is up for re-election in November.
