This is the perfect time to spot Bald Eagles in Iowa.  Director of Washington County Conservation, Steve Anderson says Iowa is like Florida to a Bald Eagle because we have open water and a food source.  Anderson says Bald Eagles are becoming very commonplace to spot in Iowa, not only on the Mississippi River but in Washington County as well.  Anderson says you can spot them in Washington County anywhere there is a food source.  He says they typically go for dead livestock or deer.  Anderson says the Conservation Center has spotted the birds in Marr Park almost every day.  He says one of the things people do need to be careful if they go bird watching is to not spook them by getting too close.
