The holidays are now over, but Community Chest members are hopeful that people will continue to have charities in their thoughts. Roberta Lampkin, with the Community Chest of Washington says they are watching their 2011 campaign very carefully. They were able to pay all the allocations for their agencies for the fourth quarter.

They are currently at the 50% mark of their campaign. Lampkin says they are very hopeful they will have enough money for their agencies. The contributions this year have been good, she feels people are giving what they can and are supporting Community Chest very well. Lampkin says if need be they will hold more fundraisers, and might have to take a certain percentage of money away from the different agencies. Community Chest helps support other organizations like Lending Hands, the Y, Habitat for Humanity and the Boy Scouts.
