Washington County has had population growth. Washington Economic Development Group Director Ed Raber says over the last 10 years, Washington County along with six other counties in Eastern Iowa have been one of the faster growing areas of the state according to the Corridor Business Alliance (CBA). He says this growth come from a variety of factors like employment and household data to make the determination of growth. These numbers were compiled before the 2010 census data was released. Raber says when those numbers are officially released, they should reflect the growth that has been reported through the CBA.
