A public hearing was held in Des Moines over the state budget. Representative Jarad Klein says there were about 90 people that showed up Tuesday evening and expressed concern on a variety of topics. He says one of the main topics was preschool funding. Klein says opinions were expressed on both sides of the issue. He notes those who spoke ranged from teachers and administrators to parents and consumers. Klein says the bill is next sent to the Senate who then will return it with amendments. He says it will take quite a bit of time before the bill reaches Governor Branstad’s desk for signature.
