During tonight’s City Council meeting, they will hold a public hearing on the revised 2010 Code of Ordinances. City Clerk Illa Earnest says this public hearing is held once a year and covers any ordinances that were passed by the City Council during the past year. Earnest says these revisions are required by the state to be done every year. She says every ordinance that is passed throughout the year is available for viewing at any time on the city’s website. Earnest adds most ordinances passed are new or have changes made however, in some rare cases, ordinances are deleted because they are no longer needed. Earnest says updating the ordinances is an easy process and keeps the Code current with laws the Council has passed. If anyone has a concern about an ordinance, they are always welcome to address the City Council during their regular sessions.
