The Washington County Riverboat Foundation recently announced its fourth quarter city grant awards, and the city of Riverside received almost $13,000. City Administrator Tina Thomas says the money goes into their general fund. Thomas says an agreement was made years ago to give the money to the Riverside Fire district for one of their trucks until they reached the amount of $275,000. They are getting very close to that number. Thomas says they don’t depend on the money, but it is very nice to have. She says if they didn’t have the money they would have to come up with it elsewhere. The city received $55,000 in 2010 from the Riverboat Foundation.
