State Senator Sandy Greiner from Keota has shared some thoughts on her first week in office. Senator Greiner says she along with fellow members on the House Appropriations Committee will be passing the Taxpayers First Act this week which will lead to debate on the floor. This Act will save taxpayers almost $500 million. Senator Greiner says some of the ways this bill is proposed to save you money is that is will require all state employees to pay a premium for their health care coverage including all legislators and their staff, reduce DNR land acquisitions, and eliminating sabbaticals for Regent Universities for 18 months. Senator Greiner says this is only the beginning of discussion and these points are what the House has selected for review.
