Early yesterday morning, an auto accident occurred in the Riverside area.  The Washington County Safety Center reports that at approximately 12:00 yesterday morning, they received two 911 reports of an accident with injuries.  The accident occurred in the 3100 block of Highway 22.  According to the Safety Center, the caller reported that they were hit head on by a second vehicle and their airbags had deployed.  60 year old Loren David Eden from Lone Tree was transported to University Hospital in Iowa City. No further information is available on his condition.  24 year old Aaron Anthony Sandy of Kalona was cited for failure to maintain control.  Personnel from Riverside First Responders, Riverside Fire Department and Rescue, Washington County Ambulance, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the scene. The accident is under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
