The Washington County Riverboat Foundation recently announced its fourth quarter city grant awards, and the city of Wellman received a little over $19,500. City Administrator Dave Ross says the city is very appreciate of the money from the WCRF because of the community improvement that they have been able to do with out raising taxes. Ross says they will be using the current money to repay a loan for the Parkside Activities Center. They also will be buying some “green” recycled material benches and tables for their parks. Ross says they treat the money as extra money to do projects that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to do. The city has received a little over $83,000 in 2010 from the WCRF.
