The City of West Chester has received a $17,200 grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation Competitive Grant Awards. West Chester Mayor Brenda Carey says the grant is for tile and drainage improvements. Carey says they have had an issue for the past several years of standing water in town that wasn’t draining properly. The project will run tile through town so the drainage works better. The grant won’t pay for the whole project, but will help to pay for the current section of the project that they are working on.
