The need for blood is urgent in southeast Iowa.  The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center says the need for blood is urgent because last week’s blizzard caused many blood drives and appointments to be canceled.  All blood types are needed but those with type O negative is needed the most since they are considered a universal donor.

Anyone wishing to donate blood has a chance at the United Presbyterian Church next Thursday, February 17th from 1:30 to 6:30 pm.  This blood drive is being hosted by the Washington Community Rotary Club.

You are encouraged to eat before donating, bring a photo ID, and you cannot have given blood after December 23rd of last year.  For more information, contact Paul Horak at 319-653-2116, email paul@horakinsurance.com, or click here.
