The Washington Demon basketball teams are on the road to face Fort Madison tonight. It will be a girl-boy doubleheader. The Demons and the Bloodhounds started playing doubleheaders last season, in the past the teams would be at opposite sites. Demon Girls Head Coach Phil Long says like everyone else they’ve had to battle the weather, but they were able to get a practice in last night. Washington is coming off two losses last week to ranked opponents. Washington lost to 12th ranked Keokuk and 10th ranked Pella. The Demons face a Fort Madison team they held to 16 points in their last meeting.

On the boys’ side the Demons are coming off a road win at Keokuk last Friday. Washington beat the Chiefs 58-47 avenging an earlier season loss at home to Keokuk. Last Friday, the Demons led just about the entire game as they created turnovers with their speed and didn’t allow many good looks from outside. Washington beat Fort Madison 66-57 in their first game. You can hear both games tonight right here on the one to count on KCII, or online at just click on Radio Plus. We’ll be on the air at around 6-pm with the Washington Hyvee Pre-game Show.
