The Washington Demon girls are back home playing in regional semifinal action as they host Centerville. The Demons are coming off a nail biting win at Solon against the Solon Spartans 50-47. The Demons used three big one and one trips going perfect from the line to keep a three point lead down the stretch. Tonight they meet a Centerville team that after losing to Fairfield by 21 points to end the regular season, came back and beat Fairfield in Centerville 50-39 to begin postseason play. Centerville is 16-5 on the season while the Demons are 17-5.

The winner of tonight’s game will face the winner of Davenport Assumption and Keokuk. They will also play in Washington in the first game of a doubleheader. This is a rare occurrence to have both regional semifinal games at the same sight. Originally Assumption and Keokuk were suppose to play at Muscatine, but Muscatine asked the state if it could be moved because they have a postseason game of their own. The Girls’ Union asked Washington if they’d be willing to host and they said sure. You’ll be able to hear tonight’s Demon game on the one to count on KCII, we’ll be on the air at around 6:45 with the pre-game show.
