The Keokuk County Courthouse is receiving an upgrade to its electrical system.  Keokuk County Auditor Christy Bates says during their Board of Supervisors meeting this week, Baker Electric of Des Moines was awarded a contract to replace the wiring at the Keokuk County Courthouse.  Bates says the total amount of the contract is more than $706,000 and was warranted because the wiring at the courthouse is in need of repair as it could possibly be the original wiring.  She says all of the electrical equipment will be replaced.  Bates notes the antique light fixtures will not be replaced.  She says Baker Electric will return to the Board of Supervisors meeting on February 14th with a plan of action on moving forward with the upgrade.
