The IMS boys basketball team used a third quarter comeback to stay unbeaten as they won against Washington Saturday. In a game heard on KCII, the Demons came out very strong rebounding well and led 13-11 at the end of the first quarter. Washington led most of the first half and got up by ten in the third quarter, but with about 2-minutes left in the third IMS used good ball movement to get it in the post for some buckets in the paint. Also they got to the line and hit on their free throws. A buzzer beating bucket from Chance Miller tied the game going into the fourth. In the final quarter IMS would take the lead and would get it out to a ten point lead before Washington would fight back and pull within three. A key turnover on an inbound allowed IMS to get an easy bucket and making it a two possesion game with under a minute and they’d hold on for the 55-47 win. For Washington:
Colin Steele 17 points
Brock Kimball 9 points
Josh Moore 8 points
For IMS:
Chance Miller 14 points
Johnny Lackender 14 points
Brian Hagedorn 8 points
IMS improves to 18-0 and Washington falls to 7-9 overall. The Demons head to Mid-Prairie tomorrow night.
