Landowners interested in using prescribed fire as a management tool for prairies and forests is invited to attend a workshop on Friday. Katie Hammond with the Louisa County Conservation Office says this one-day class that will cover the benefits of fire, setting management goals and objectives, burn plans, fire weather and safety. She says the sessions will include the effects of burns, fire breaks, fire tools and ignition techniques. The cost of the class is $10 to cover the cost of lunch and materials.
