The Lone Tree Lions used a strong first half to get up on Winfield-Mount Union and advance in the postseason. The Lions led early 16-8, which Lone Tree Head Coach Travis Pierson says was key for them after a slow start Saturday when they beat IMS by three. With the Lions up 16-8, Winfield-Mount Union came back to pull within two but Lone Tree went up 32-17 at the half. Pierson says they played well on defense creating turnovers with their press and not allowing the Wolves guards to get the ball in the paint. The Lions won 50-31.
