The Keokuk County Board of Supervisors held their weekly meeting yesterday morning and during the meeting they discussed the creation of an Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Board Vice-Chair Michael Hadley says having an EOC will be helpful to the county in case of any natural disaster. He says the EOC will be a central dispatching location for law enforcement, emergency personnel and volunteers during a time of disaster.
Hadley says this center will be housed in the current Department of Human Services building in the county. Also during the meeting yesterday, the Supervisors established a time for a public hearing regarding the fiscal year 2012 county budget.
This public hearing will be held Monday, March 14th at 10:00 in the Board of Supervisors meeting room at the Keokuk County Courthouse.
