The Mid-Prairie School Board met this week and discussed finances in the school district. Superintendent Mark Schneider says they needed to pass a resolution in order to receive the 101% budget guarantee. He says they need this budget guarantee because their certified enrollment went down.
Schneider says this funding comes from property taxes. Also during the meeting, they discussed the re-cabling of the high school.
Schneider says when they are upgrading the HVAC system in the high school, they will be upgrading their telecommunication system at the same time. He adds the current telecommunication system is approximately 15 years old.
Schneider says they also reviewed both their Series 300 Administrative policies and their Communicable Diseases for Employees policy. He says upon review, they discovered their communicable diseases policy was outdated and this gave them an opportunity to correct the problem. Schneider says per state law, they have to review their school board policies.
